Dickerson, Lyle - Model 861711, 8'6" 3/2 6wt Bamboo Rod

For sale here is a Dickerson 861711 8'6" 3-piece / 2-tip 6wt bamboo rod in very good condition. Recently returned from the shop of Mark Canfield, who addressed some aged varnish, reset the butt ferrule and re-wrapped 2 guides on the mid, along with the stripping guide and hook keeper. He also completely refinished the black walnut reel seat spacer beautifully. The rod features medium toned cane, oxidized guides and transparent brown windings with black tipping. Ferrules fit perfectly and the sections are full length & straight. The original script on the butt section is clear and bold. 5.6" cork grip is soiled and slightly ridged, and the rod has a bent wire hook keeper and hexagonal nickel silver winding check. Reel seat is Dickerson's standard screw lock with pocketed butt cap. The weight is 5.05oz. I find it to be a true 6wt, on the medium side of medium fast. A very popular Dickerson taper, it will handle a wide variety of fishing situations and the rod sings with 50 feet of line or more. Ready for service after a painstaking partial restoration at Mr. Canfield's shop. Sold in the original fold over bag and brass capped tube.
