For sale here is a special framed fly display, "Top Ten Flies of the West", tied by Al Troth. Al was perhaps best known as the creator of the Elk Hair Caddis, featured in 'The History of Fly-Fishing in Fifty Flies' by Ian Whitelaw. Al was also a prolific tier and designer of other original patterns, and a long-time fly-fishing guide in SW Montana. This set is the last in the series (#100/100) and contains high-graded flies in 10 different must-have patterns for western trout. Only the best ties were selected for this display, and it has been kept in the Troth family. Dimensions are 8.25" x 10.25" x 1.5". A worthy addition to any fly-fishing collection. This display is on consignment from Al's son Eric, and a letter of provenance will be included in the sale.
