For sale here is a Walt Carpenter "Special Project" 2-piece / 1-tip bamboo rod in excellent condition. Built on an old-stock FE Thomas blank, marked as a 6'9" rod but the overall length is actually 6'6". Nicely flamed cane with oxidized guides, red agate stripping guide and blued ferrules. The windings are dark chestnut with black tipping. All sections are straight and full length. Swelled butt leads into a 5.25" cork grip (clean and smooth), and the rod is fitted with a blued cap & ring reel seat over mahogany spacer. Weight is 2.72oz. Action on the medium side of medium fast, it casts nicely off the tip with a WF or DT4. Sold in the original bag with stiffener and aluminum tube with Carpenter's card and an aftermarket FET decal affixed. The tube packs into a tan canvas protector.
