For sale here is a Charlton 8550c fly reel with the scarce offshore spool. LHW, the reel is in near mint condition. The only signs of use I see are light mounting marks to the foot. The offshore spool offers a medium/large arbor for increased capacity, and the back of the spool has directional fins designed to provide a cooling effect on those screaming runs. The 8550c's have been the gold standard for big game fly fishing for many years. The machining is perfect, the type III anodizing is tough as nails, and the fully sealed carbon drag is buttery smooth throughout its astonishing range. The beauty of the Charlton configurable reels is that spools of different sizes are interchangeable. The offshore spool is an extremely desirable and scarce size, and LHW examples don't come up very often. Sold in the original blue Cordura pouch.
