Howells, G.H. - 7' 2/2 5wt Bamboo Rod

For sale here is a 7' 2/2 5wt bamboo rod made by Gary Howells. #3790, this is an early rod made in 1970 for Anglers All. Very good used condition, the only condition note I have is a 1" clear wrap covering a node crack on one tip. Medium toned cane, 3x3 nodes and bright guides wrapped in chestnut windings with gold tipping. Ferrules fit perfectly and all sections are full length. Both tips have the slightest of fish fighting sets. Script remains bold and clear, and the rod is fitted with a skeleton grip & reel seat with aluminum hardware. The cork has light soiling and light ridging. Scripted weight is 2 3/4oz but my scale reads a hair over (2.91oz). Medium fast action, a lovely (and relatively scarce) Howells 7-footer. Sold in the original bag and tube with 90% label.
