Sold Out $1,425.00
For sale here is an H.L. Leonard Model 50-H, 8' 3-piece / 2-tip, 5-6wt bamboo rod in excellent condition. It appears to have been completely restored and has seen little use since. A pre-fire rod featuring medium toned cane with "3-up" nodes, English-twist guides wrapped in transparent tan silks. The stripping guide and tip-tops have agate rings, and the ring on one of the tips has four hairline cracks. Waisted ferrules fit perfectly, and the patent date is intact on the butt ferrule. All sections are full length and both tips have the faintest of fish fighting sets. Swelled butt with strap & ring hook keeper and NS winding check, 6" grip (lightly soiled and slightly ridged), and cap & ring reel seat over mortised wood spacer. The butt cap retains the Leonard roll stamp with "Tournament" on the reverse. The butt cap also has some splotchy patina that looks like it would clean up nicely with some metal polish if the next owner so desired. Medium action, it comfortably casts a variety of 5wt and 6wt lines. Sold in the original bag with intact hang tag and brass capped tube. From the collection of Thomas H. Clark.
