For sale here is an E.C. Powell 9' 2/2, 5-6wt bamboo rod. Partially refinished, the rod is fitted with non-original Super-Z ferrules. Medium tempered cane with bright guides and small agate stripping guide. The ferrules fit nicely, and the rod sections are straight. The butt section is about 1/2" shorter than the tips, and the rod measures about 1/2" shy of 9'. The varnish has some scuffs throughout, and one tip has a 1.3" clear wrap below the second snake guide from the tip top. This is a semi-hollow rod with black/white wrap above the hook keeper, and the original owner's name is inked below the patent number. 6.25" cork grip is soiled and slightly ridged, and there is a through-going crack in the cork around the fattest part of the grip. Standard up-locking reel seat over black composite spacer. Action on the medium side of medium fast, it feels like a 6wt or maybe a strong 5. I haven't mic'd it, but it feels like a B-taper. An imperfect, yet fishable rod. Sold in the original bag and replacement Powell tube.
