For sale here is a 7'6" 2/2 5wt bamboo rod from the bench of Daryll Whitehead. From a limited series of rods made for friends and investors associated with the "Trout Grass" documentary film, this is #2 of 5 rods produced. Excellent+ used condition, featuring medium toned cane, bronzed snake guides and opaque jasper stripping guide. Blued ferrules fit perfectly, and all sections are straight & full length. The female ferrule is fitted with a bone and cork ferrule plug. The cork grip is clean and smooth with one small guide imprint towards the base. Nickel silver down-locking reel seat over Circassian walnut spacer. The maker's name, serial number (#167) and series number (#2 of 5) are stamped on the reel seat hardware. The butt cap and the male ferrule slides have some slight discoloration, although these are purely cosmetic and should clean up easily if the next owner chooses. Weight is precisely 4oz. Medium fast action, a pleasant all-around trout taper from Mr. Whitehead. Sold in the original bag and brass capped tube with maker's data label affixed. A nice bit of history with this rod's connection to the "Trout Grass" film. A DVD copy of the documentary will be included with the sale.
