Guba, George - 8' 3/2 5wt (Payne 202)

For sale here is a George Guba 8' 3/2 Payne 202 taper rod in excellent used condition. Medium toned cane, oxidized guides wrapped in chestnut windings with gold tipping. Blued ferrules fit perfectly, and all sections are straight and full length. 5.6" cork grip is clean and smooth, and the rod is fitted with a blued cap & ring reel seat over mahogany spacer, flared at the cork check. Indicated weight on the tube label is 3.5oz, but my scale reads 3.62oz. Medium action, I think most will prefer it with a 4wt line. Mounting marks and minor bluing loss to the reel seat, otherwise excellent. Sold in the original bag and brass capped tube with Guba label affixed. Note: the brass cap is slightly cross-threaded and takes some effort to screw down correctly.
