Zumbrunn, Kurt - 6' 2/1 5wt Hollowbuilt Bamboo Rod

For sale here is a 6' 2-piece / single tip hollowbuilt 5wt bamboo rod from Swiss rodmaker Kurt Zumbrunn. Kurt brings several decades of rodmaking to his current designs, which have been tested in the technical mountain streams of the Swiss Alps. This rod is built on his Tri-hex / EVO6 blank, which creates a hollow triangular form with strips at the apexes. Blonde cane with hard chrome guides wrapped in transparent windings w/ black accents, giving the windings the appearance of birch bark. The 7" grip is made of stacked birch bark (natural finish), and the mortised reel seat is of curly European birch. Nickel silver cap & ring reel seat hardware with NS checks and bright NS ferrules. The sections are straight and full length, and the ferrules fit perfectly. Weight is 3.62oz. A deep loading, gentle rod for big fish, best with a DT5. This is a new rod from the maker, sold in an embroidered fold-over bag w/ tethered ferrule plug and brass capped tube.
