Sold Out
For sale here is an unusual 5pc 7wt fiberglass rod from Mario Wojnicki. 8'8" overall length, all 5 sections are different lengths (although the 2 shortest sections are almost the same). Built on an unsanded orange glass blank with dark guides and agate stripper, wrapped in transparent windings with dark accents. The rod is in excellent used condition, the spigot ferrules fit perfectly, and each section is witness marked and serialized (#10220). 6.8" cork grip is clean and bright, and the rod is fitted with Mario's custom reel seat hardware over fine wood spacer. The butt cap is cork & Micarta. Medium fast, semi-parabolic action. Originally made for targeting striped bass in the waters around the East Bay where the rod was made. Designed for a 250gr shooting head, although it feels like it would handle just about any modern 7wt fly line. The theory behind the staggered section length design may be lost, but it's a fine Wojnicki glass rod in beautiful shape (this is a personal rod of the makers. Sold in the original fold over bag and aluminum tube.
