For sale here is a Goodwin Granger 8040 Special, 8' 3-pc / 2-tip bamboo rod, expertly restored by John Bradford. Caramel colored ammoniated cane with oxidized snake guides and perfection stripping guide wrapped in golden yellow windings. All sections are straight, full length and free of repairs. The ferrules fit perfectly, and the "Granger Special" stamp is well preserved. 6.5" western grip is smooth and clean, and the rod is fitted with the patented Granger up-locking reel seat. Excellent condition throughout, it appears to have seen little use since Mr. Bradford performed the restoration. One of the finest Granger tapers, and arguably the best all-around trout tapers GG ever produced. This one is ready to get back on the water. Sold in the original bag with Bradford's hang tag and beige enameled tube with faded data label. From the collection of Thomas H. Clark.
