For sale here is a RHW Hardy St. George 3 3/8" reel with gorgeous wartime spitfire finish. Three-screw latch cover, full length ribbed brass foot, rim mounted tensioner and free spinning ebonite handle grasp. Light gray agate line guard has two stable hairline cracks. Mechanically tight with minimal end play. Desirable larger arbor spool and strong adjustable drag. The gear teeth remain quite sharp. The reel has a single spring and pawl and has the "JS" makers initials (Jimmy Smith) on the frame; both common features on wartime reels. A fantastic example of a rare spitfire St. George, would make a great addition to any Hardy collection.
