For sale here is an early Orvis Battenkill 7' 2/2 5wt bamboo rod. Very good restored condition, the restoration was reportedly performed by John Bradford. Serial #0716, dating the rod to 1944. Varnished finish. Medium flamed cane with oxidized guides and carbide stripping guide. Wraps are gold with black tipping. The sections are full length and serialized, and both sets have slight fishing sets. 12/64 ferrules fit perfectly. Strap & ring hook keeper, 6" cork grip (replaced during the restoration), and downlocking reel seat over fine wood spacer. Medium/medium fast action, it's a lively 7 footer and a pleasure to cast. I like it with a DT5. Sold in what I believe is the original bag and replacement tube. From the collection of Thomas H. Clark.
