Orvis - CFO III Fly Reel - Screwback

For sale here is an Orvis CFO III "screwback" fly reel in excellent condition. Made in England by Hardy's. Stan Bogdan created the original prototype for this reel, and they were first offered for sale in the 1971 Orvis catalog. Set up LHW but converts with the flip of a pawl. This is an early 1970's reel featuring a ported spool and frame with aluminum center screw and rivets, dark gray enamel paint and three-hole aluminum foot. A few tiny spots of finish loss to the rims, otherwise pristine. 3" diameter with a spool width of 11/16. Sold in what appears to be the original suede zipper pouch.
