Pflueger - 1492 Medalist Fly Reel

For sale here is an early click and pawl Pflueger Medalist model 1492 in excellent used condition. Black enamel finish with "Diamolite Line Guard - Patent Pending" stamp on the rim, this reel probably dates to the late 1930's. 2 7/8" diameter with an interior spool width of 3/4". The reel features sculpted pillars, metal spool latch cover, plated reel foot and amber Pyralin handle. Cosmetic signs of honest use throughout. The click and pawl drag is drum tight, though there is the smallest hint of end play, not an uncommon occurrence on these reels. The 1492 is the smallest in the Medalist series, a classic American reel for 3wt fishing.
