For sale here is a Wright & McGill "Water Seal" 8'6" 3/2 impregnated bamboo rod in excellent original condition. A short-lived model from W&M, rarely seen in this condition. Made in FA and FB grades, this is the lower grade model with dark impregnated cane and gold wraps tipped burgundy. All sections are straight and full length, and the rod shows very little signs of use. Nickel silver ferrules fit perfectly. 6.5" grip is smooth with a hint of soiling and a few small indentations in the middle rings (not noticeable in hand). Standard up-locking reel seat with W&M stamping. Built on the 8642 Granger taper, it's best with a 6wt line. Overall weight is 5.65oz. A very fine example of a late-era Wright & McGill rod, sold in a replacement bag and tube.
