Edwards, E.W. / Winchester - Model 6163, 7' 2/2 4wt Bamboo Rod

For sale here is a 7' 2/2 Winchester 6163 bamboo rod, made by Edwards. Fair original condition. The rod consists of darkly tempered cane, red agate stripping guide and dark snake guides. One agate and one hardened steel tip top. Wraps are bright red with dark red tipping. Signature wraps of increasing width towards the grip. 4.25" cork grip is slightly ridged and appears to have been cleaned at some point. Knurled nickel silver cap & ring reel seat over wood spacer. The butt cap Is rotating slightly on its pin and retains the Winchester stamping and "6163". The varnish is chipped and scratched throughout, and clearly softened & set back up, leaving some bag marks. Most of the wraps are in decent shape, though the wraps on the stripping guide are cracked and need attention. The ferrules are clicking and need to be reset. The real saving grace is that all sections are full length and free of repair. The sections are also mostly straight, with just the slightest of casting sweeps on both tips. A nice 7-footer, worthy of some TLC. Sold in the original Winchester Sikaline bag and replacement (Hardy) bamboo tube.
