For sale here is a 7'6" 2-piece / 2-tip, 4-5wt bamboo rod from the bench of Rob Hoffhines. A new rod from the maker, No. 123. Hollow-fluted construction, featuring richly flamed cane with oxidized snake guides and red agate stripper, wrapped in oxblood windings with pale red tipping. The sections are straight and full length, and the Swiss-style ferrules fit perfectly. Tip tops are marked for ease of rotation. Nicely swelled butt, 6" grip and blued cap & ring reel seat over mortised burl spacer. Weight is 3.62oz. Light in the hand with a very smooth, positive action. On the faster side of medium fast. It casts well with a DT4 or DT5 and is incredibly nimble at a variety of distances. A lovely point-and-shoot rod from Mr. Hoffhines. Sold in the original bag and tube with maker’s decal.
