The cork is clean and smooth, but there is a chunk missing at the base. A pleasant medium fast actioned rod, good with a 7wt or heavier WF6. A receipt for repairs dated 1986 is made out for Joe Garman and attached to the tube. Works completed: 1) Replace tip guide 2) Reduce grip diameter and 3) Resize & lube ferrule. Omar Needham worked for Orvis in the late 1930's/early 1940's, alongside the more renown makers Wes Jordan and Harold "Pinky" Gillum. After leaving Orvis he continued making rods under his own name in Rangeley Maine. He is thought to have made a few hundred rods total and they are cherished by those who own them. This one is sold in the original bag and a wooden tube with clasp closure. From the collection of Thomas H. Clark.
