For sale here is a Paul Young 'Bobby Doerr' 9' 2/2 8wt bamboo rod in very good used condition. One tip appears re-wrapped, otherwise original. Dark flamed cane with bright guides wrapped in yellow gold wraps. 17/64 Super-Z ferrules fit perfectly. All sections are straight & full length, and the re-wrapped tip has the original owner's initials (C.N.C.) inked at the ferrules. Script on the butt section reads "C.N. Crichton Detroit Jan 1954 - 'Bobby Doerr' model 9' 6oz GBF (semi-parabolic) - Fer. 17/64 Tip Top 6/64 Bamboo wt. 4.44oz". Bent loop hook keeper, 7" cork grip (clean & smooth) and down-locking reel seat over cork spacer. Pocketed butt cap retains the PHY stamp. Rated for a WF8, this rod is a semi-parabolic cannon. Originally designed as a strong 9' 2-piece rod with plenty of backbone for targeting salmon & steelhead in the PNW. This one is sold in the original bag and tube.
