For sale here is a Paul Young 'Martha Marie", 7'6" 2/2 5wt bamboo rod in very good used condition. A later era rod, made by Todd Young. Serial #4966 and marked only on the butt section. Medium flamed cane, oxidized guides and dark brown windings with crimson tipping. All sections are straight and full length, and the ferrules fit perfectly. One tip has a short invisible wrap just above the 3rd snake guide down from the tip top. It appears to be covering a small chip in the cane. Bent loop hook keeper, skeleton cork grip & seat with blued hardware. The butt cap retains the PHY rolls stamp, and all the cork is smooth with light soiling. The varnish is in great shape, and the rod appears to have seen little use. Scripted weight is 3.4oz but my scale reads 3.6oz. Medium fast, semi-parabolic action. A smooth casting 5wt and a fine rendition of the Martha Marie taper. Sold in the original tan bag with brown piping and brass capped tube.
