For sale here is a very scarce Paul H Young Nymph Jr. bamboo rod in excellent used condition. 7'6" 2-piece / 2-tip for a 4wt. Very few examples of the Nymph Jr. taper exist, and this is a later one built by Jack & Todd Young. Serial #4962. Featuring nicely flamed cane with oxidized guides wrapped in chocolate brown windings with red accents. Scripted weight is 2 7/8oz, actual weight is exactly 3.50oz. Bent loop hook keeper, 5.5" cork grip with full thumb relief. The cork is slightly soiled, but smooth. Down-locking reel seat over cork spacer & pocketed cap with PHY stamping. All sections are straight, full length & serialized. The ferrule fit is perfect, although the bluing on the male slides do not meet the top of the female when fully seated. This is original to the rod; you can see and feel where the female ferrule wasn't reamed to the bottom. A nice 4wt, great with both WF and DT lines. The action is highly parabolic and a delight to cast. Don't miss your chance to own this scarce PHY taper. Sold in the original bag and unmarked tube.
