For sale here is an 8' 2/2 Payne bamboo rod. 12/64 ferrule, weight is 3.77oz. No hang tag, but probably a 102. Expertly restored by Steve Blake. Medium toned cane, oxidized guides with agate stripping guide and chocolate brown windings with gold & purple accents. Ferrules fit perfectly, and all sections are straight & full length. Cork grip is made up of 1/4" rings and remains smooth with light soiling. Cap & ring reel seat over Spanish cedar spacer. The Payne stamp can still be seen on the butt cap. Smooth action, on the medium side of medium fast. It feels like it would cast a 4 or 5wt line. A classic Payne trout rod, ready to fish. Sold in the original bag and tube with partial label. The tube cap has a slightly different color tone, it's possible the cap is a replacement.
