Payne - 8' 3/2 5wt Bamboo Rod

For sale here is a Payne 8' 3/2 5wt bamboo rod in good used condition. Medium tempered cane with dark guides wrapped in brown windings with gold tipping. One tip is an Orvis replacement with resorcinol glue lines and lighter wraps. Both tip ferrules and the mid female are Orvis replacements. All the ferrules fit nicely, and both tips have slight fish fighting sets. 6" western grip with Payne's standard up-locking reel seat over Spanish cedar spacer. The screw collar has the Payne logo on one side and "Made for Abercrombie & Fitch" on the reverse. The back of the reel seat spacer has some deeper gouges, but the wood seems stable. Weight is 4.30oz and the ferrules are 10/64 & 15/64, indicating the rod is probably a 200 or 201. Medium dry fly action, most will prefer it with a DT5. An imperfect rod, but supremely fishable. Sold in the original bag (no hang tag) and brass capped tube with Payne label affixed.
