For sale here is an E.C. Powell 9'6" 2-piece / 2-tip semi-hollow C-taper steelhead rod in excellent condition. Medium tempered cane with snake guides and red agate stripping guide, all wrapped in color preserved gold windings with full intermediates. The stripping guide and one tip top are rewrapped, and the lowest snake guide on the butt section is a replacement/rewrap. Sections are straight & full length, and the bright ferrules fit perfectly. Black & white wraps at the winding check indicating semi-hollow cedar core construction. 6.25" grip is smooth and soiled. Standard up-locking Powell reel seat over Bakelite spacer. Scripted & actual weight is 5 1/8oz. This rod includes the original hang tag, indicating it's a 10 4/5 x 1/5 C-taper. Probably best with a WF8 line, although the rod has plenty of power and it will handle a variety of sinking lines & shooting heads. A classic Powell steelhead rod in very nice shape. Sold in the original bag (w/ tag) & brass capped tube.
