For sale here an 8' 2-piece/2-tip bamboo rod made by Jack Schneider of San Jose California. Medium tempered cane with 3x3 nodes, oxidized guides and bronze thread wraps. All sections are straight and full length, and the step down ferrules fit perfectly. The varnish has a few drips here and there, and I assume it was made this way. The stripping guide is slightly loose under its wraps and should be shored up with a touch of varnish. Jack's script is bold and clear on the butt section, and the rod bears the serial #118. Up-locking reel seat with Jack's distinctive grip. The cork is moderately soiled with light ridging. Weight is 4.41oz. Medium fast action, I like it with a DT5 although some may like it with a 6. An interesting rod from an unsung California maker. Most of Jack's rods were longer, an 8 footer is almost impossible to find. Sold in the original bag and tube.
