Winston, R.L. - 8' 2-piece 5wt Fiberglass Fly Rod - SF Era

For sale here is a San Francisco-era 8' 2-piece 5wt fiberglass fly rod in excellent+ condition. Light bronze painted blank with crimson windings and white accents. Spigot ferrules with red witness marks (no ferrule gap), strap & ring hook keeper and bakelite winding check. 6' cork grip is clean with a slight hint of ridging, and the rod employs a gold anodized down-locking reel seat. A handful of early glass spinning rods were painted this light bronze/copper color in the 1950's/1960's, and this is an unusual example of a fly rod blank receiving the same treatment. Both the finish and thread wraps on this rod are in fantastic condition. Medium fast action and the weight is 3.45oz. Casts a DT5 nicely, though I suspect it may handle a WF6 as well. Sold with replacement sock and tube.
