Winston, R.L. - 8'6" 2/1, 4 7/8oz (7wt) Bamboo Fly Rod

For sale here is a Lew Stoner, San Francisco-era Winston 8'6", two-piece, single tip bamboo rod. This is a 4 7/8oz rod (#6946) that casts a DT6 or WF7 line with authority. A fantastic rod for windy conditions or when you just need a little more power when throwing big flies. The rod is in excellent original condition and features gold silk windings (double wrapped at the guide feet) and burgundy silk accents at the tip top, ferrules and signature wraps. Bakelite winding check, down-locking aluminum reel seat and lightly soiled western-style cork grip. The grip shows some very slight ridging, and there is a small chip at the top of the cork. Both sections are full length and straight, and the 16/64 Duronze ferrules fit perfectly. A wonderful Stoner-era Winston cane rod in supremely fishable condition. Sold with blue Winston rod sock and replacement tube.
