For sale here is an Orvis Rocky Mountain, impregnated 6'6" 3/2 bamboo rod in excellent used condition. Serial #12868, made in 1952. Medium toned cane with 3x3 nodes, snake guides and diminutive carbide stripper. All sections are full length and serialized, and both tips have light sets. 13/64 & 9/64 ferrules fit perfectly. 5.5" cork grip is smooth with light soiling, and the rod is fitted with a down-locking reel seat over cork spacer. Weight is 2.96oz. Medium fast action, I like it with a DT5. The Orvis Rocky Mountain was a popular model for backpacking and longer hikes into smaller streams. This one is sold in the original bag and unmarked Champion tube.
