For sale here is a Paul Young Para 15, 8' 2-piece / 2-tip 5-6wt bamboo rod in very good used condition. Made in 1959, prior to the death of Paul Young in 1960. Darkly flamed cane with color preserved gold wraps and red spiral accents on the dry fly tip. Super-Z ferrules fit perfectly. All sections are straight, full length and serialized (#3849). 6" cork grip, down locking reel seat over cork spacer and the pocketed butt cap retains the PHY stamp. This rod recently returned from Bob Summers who replaced all the cork and the hook keeper. The “wet" tip appears to have been refinished; the serial number is written in a different hand and the ferrule bluing is quite a bit darker. Weight is 4.14oz with the wet tip and just a hair lighter with the dry. An iconic taper, the two tips will cover many different fishing situations from throwing long leaders and small dries to heaver streamers and nymphs. I prefer both tips with a WF6, although some may like it with a 5. Sold in the original beige bag with brown piping and what is probably the original tube with replacement cap & chain.
