Paul H. Young - Para 15, 8' 2/2 6wt Bamboo Rod

For sale here is a Paul Young Para 15, 8' 2-piece / 2-tip 6wt bamboo rod in excellent+ used condition. Made in 1978, just after Bob Summer's left the company. Featuring darkly flamed cane with dark guides and carbide stripper, all wrapped in dark brown windings. All sections are straight, full length and serialized (#4728). Super-Z style ferrules fit perfectly, and the ferrule bluing is mottled, especially on the female. Both tips appear to be identical tapers. The butt is inked "A Paul H Young Co. Rod - Parabolic 15 8' 4oz" and the original owner's name is inked below. All script is in Jack Young's hand. Bent loop hook keeper, 6.5" cork grip with dual thumb relief and down-locking black aluminum reel seat over cork spacer. All the cork is smooth with just a hint of graying from light use. Actual weight is 4.2oz. A lovely 6wt with strong, parabolic action. A very nice example of the later era PHY rods, in one of Paul Young's most well regarded tapers. Sold in the original maroon satin bag and Champion-style tube.
