For sale here is an 8' 3-piece / 2-tip Payne bamboo rod in excellent restored condition. Weight is 4.81oz with up-locking reel seat, so most likely a model 202 (also written on the bag in permanent marker). Expertly restored by Steve Blake, probably in the early 2000's. Medium toned cane with oxidized guides and red agate stripping guide. Chestnut wraps with gold tipping and royal purple accents. All sections are straight and full length, and the ferrules fit perfectly. Strap & ring hook keeper, 6" cork grip (soiled but smooth) and standard up-locking reel seat over Spanish cedar spacer. The Payne roll stamp on the screw collar is clear and crisp. Best with a WF or DT6. Plenty of backbone on this one, the action is on the faster side of medium fast. Sold in the original bag (with permanent marker) and brass capped tube, sans label.
