Payne - 8'6" 3/2, 6wt Bamboo Rod

For sale here is a Payne 8'6" 3/2 bamboo rod in excellent restored condition. No hang tag, but it's probably a 204 or 205. Restored by Steve Blake, the cane is all original and the rod has been rewrapped/varnished. It also comes with a detachable 4 3/4" fighting butt, likely a custom order. Medium toned cane with dark chestnut wraps and dark tipping. Purple & gold accents at the ferrules and hook keeper. All sections are straight & full length, and the ferrules fit perfectly. Strap & ring hook keeper, 6.5" cork grip (clean & smooth), and up-locking aluminum reel seat with Spanish cedar spacer. The collar retains the Payne roll stamp, and the butt cap removes to accept the fighting butt. Weight is 6.17oz (8oz w/ the fighting butt attached). Action on the medium side of medium fast, best with a DT6. It feels like it would be very comfortable swinging wets or streamers. A nice Payne heavy trout/bass rod. Sold in the original bag and tube with canvas tube protector & provision for the fighting butt.
