Powell, E.C. - 9' 2/2, 7/8wt Bamboo Rod - C-Taper

For sale here is an E.C. Powell 9' C-taper, 2 piece/2 tip semihollow bamboo rod in excellent original condition. Featuring dark straw cane with tungsten steel guides and red agate stripping guide wrapped in dark bronze windings. Intermediate wraps throughout. All sections are straight and full length, and the ferrule fit is perfect. Black & white accent wraps at the hook keeper indicating a semihollow rod, and the patent date remains clear and bold. Originally owned by GGACC member Charles Barfield, his name is inked on the rod and typewritten on the tube label. The 6" grip is clean and smooth, and the rod is fitted with the standard up-locking Powell reel seat. Pure C-taper action (tip resisting/butt flexing), and you can feel the rod load into the grip. I find it to be a strong 7wt. The condition is remarkable, this rod has clearly seen little use. Originally owned by GGACC member Charles Barfield, his name is inked on the rod and is typewritten on the intact tube label. An excellent example of a relatively scarce configuration. Sold in the original bag and tube.
