For sale here is an F.E. Thomas Special 7' 2/2 3wt in good used condition. An earlier rod with left hand twist guides and intermediate wraps throughout. Bronzed snake guides with red agate stripper, the wraps are red with tan tipping. 5" cork grip (clean and slightly ridged) and cap & ring reel seat over mortised wood spacer. The butt cap retains the FET roll stamp, and the base of the butt cap is stamped "30" in bullseye. 11/64 ferrules fit perfectly, and the sections are straight. Weight is 2.6oz. One tip was scarfed back to size under the second snake guide by Mike Clark at South Creek Ltd., although this tip remains about 0.20" shorter than the full-length tip. The top two guides and tip top on the repaired tip have been re-wrapped, along with the stripping guide. A nice casting 3wt, action is on the medium side of medium fast. A somewhat scarce configuration, ready to fish. Sold in the original bag (no hangtag) and brass capped tube with 80% label.
