Pflueger - Hawkeye & Golden West 2-Reel Set w/ Custom Box

For sale here is a set of two Pflueger reels in a custom presentation box, made by rod maker Chris Vance. The reels are a Golden West 80 and a Hawkeye 60, both in very good used condition. The Golden West is mechanically smooth and tight with moderate sun fading throughout. The bulldog decal is in excellent shape. The Hawkeye 60 yd reel is also mechanically tight and smooth. The hard rubber parts remain quite dark, and the nickel silver bands have minimal scratches/signs of use. It appears a previous owner scratched their initials into the reel foot. Both reels have strong RHW clicks, and the on/off toggles works as intended. The box is made of antique redwood with matching splines and hand tooled leather and brass handle & closure snaps. The interior is block fitted leather with thick felt padding, and the reels are secure with no movement when closed. The exterior of the box has a few scratches and two small dings on either end (purely cosmetic). The base is signed by the maker. Two beautiful vintage Pflueger reels in a gorgeous presentation box. Mr. Vance comes from a custom furniture and woodworking background, and this is a fantastic example of his craftsmanship. The reels would make nice pairings with a variety of 4 or 5wt cane rods (maybe even your Vance!)
