Payne - 7'6" 2/2, 4-5wt Bamboo Rod

For sale here is a Payne 7'6" 2/2 bamboo rod in excellent condition. One tip appears to have been re-wrapped, but the thread colors and the varnish are extremely close. Medium tempered cane with snake guides and Perfection stripper, wrapped in chestnut windings with gold tipping. All sections are straight and full length, and the step-down ferrules fit perfectly. The female ferrule is fitted with the classic Payne ferrule plug. Lightly swelled butt, strap & ring hook keeper and 6" cork grip (slightly soiled with just a hint of ridging). Blued cap & ring reel seat over mortised Spanish cedar spacer. The butt cap retains the Payne roll stamp. The rod weighs 3.6oz, which leads me to believe it's a 101 (although it was previously sold as a 100H; without a hang tag we can't say for sure). Medium fast dry fly action, I like it with a DT5 but some may prefer it with heavier WF4. Sold in the original bag and tube with intact EF Payne decal.
